SOLVED: 80s Song: Reasons For Living..Artist?
My dad has a tape he made in the 80s and it has some songs on it that we don't know the artists of. The one that is most frustrating is Reasons for Living because its my favourite and I know almost all the lyrics, but cant find it anywhere! I'm hoping someone might know who sings it.
Here are the lyrics:
Verse 1:
Nobody wants to ask the question why
Who we are or where we're from
No one seems to care
We're busy making plans for an uncertain future
Chorus:
Reasons for living
Reasons, reasons
Reasons for living
Reasons, reasons
Verse 2:
Mother's going shopping for the little baby
Its food for the masses of uncertain numbers
Is this living or just surviving?
Chorus
Verse 3:
Tired eyes of Meliton workers
You can't find a logical...something something
The chimps are down and guess who's winning?
Chorus
Thanks so much

Reasons for Living - SENSE
Dear Adrianna,
I found your post three years too late! I hope you get this response.
I wrote 'Reasons for Living' in 1982 and recorded it with my band SENSE for our album 'HOLD ON'. We toured with Kim Wilde and Depeche Mode in 1983. After a few more singles we split up in 1988. Here are the full lyrics to the song:

Nobody wants to ask the question why
Where we’re from or where we’re going
No ones seems to care
Busy making plans for an uncertain future
Reasons for living
Reasons, reasons
Reasons for living
Reasons, reasons
Mothers go shopping for the little babies
Food for the masses of uncertain numbers
Is this living or just surviving?
Chorus
Tired eyes of the militant workers
You can’t fight the logic of a sleepless machine
The chips are down and guess who's winning?

Dear Mr. Joyce
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my post.
It's wonderful to finally know who sings one of my favourite 80's tunes!
Do you, by any chance, have the mp3 for "Reasons for Living" that you could post on youtube or put on itunes for purchase?
As you probably know tape cassettes don't last forever, so it would be amazing to have a digital copy of the song to share with future generations.
Thanks again for your reply,
Adrianna
