Just wrote this..kind of a new style for me I guess. Let me know what you think about it!
I've been writing these words for a while now
Every time I think of your face
So I haven't been able to put this pen back down
Cause it's you my mind has encased
Your eyes Your voice
Your fingertips
Your smile My choice
I let this slip
I've been staring at your name for a while now
Next to the send button on my phone
Maybe we can pick up and leave this town
Find a place to call our home
I don't know..
Your passion Your laugh
Your fingertips
Your direction My past
I let this slip
I miss your..
I miss your..
I miss your fingertips
I've been bleeding on the floor for a while now
Waiting for you to come save me
My blood has finally been drained out
It's my fault I set you free
I miss your...
Your heart My stone
Your fingertips
My fault I'm alone
I let this slip
But I still miss your..
I still miss your..
I still miss your finger tips.

Your writing is just amazing, some of the best I've ever seen, anywhere. This is so expressive, so elegantly written and so meaningful that I'm beyond words. It's classic in every sense. You really should consider publishing in some form.

I liked especially the fact u used the implied attemptted suicide (and hope of rescue) to show the need you have for the subject. And then to show its too late. Very nice, very nice.
Moon is right, u should try to get your songs out there and published. -
Thank you so much. That means so much from both of you. I have always wanted to publish my writing but I really don't know how to go about it. Do you have any suggestions?

Unfortunately publishing is a problem, especially getting music published, unless you can network or already know someone in the industry ... and it also helps to write a melody with lyrics, so it would only need to be styled or arranged, plus you can get quite a bit more for a complete song, or it's just easier to sell than a lyric without music.
... And selling music or poetry (or just getting attention as a writer) means writing enough in volume to prove your ability to produce quantity as well as quality ...
Publishing as poetry can also be hard, sending drafts/manuscripts to publishing houses, and then waiting and hoping somebody will think it's worth publishing.
Or, if you have a few hundred dollars to pay out, and only if you have enough volume, "vanity publishers" will take your money to print a book, maybe 200 or more copies, and then you would have to place them in bookstores and so on. But once you pay the vanity publisher, all of the proceeds from a store sale (minus the store's commission) are yours.
The other option is an e-book on the Internet, just a file that's printable (pdf is always good) but that also involves other mechanics.
I suppose the best or only thing to say now is, don't give up too much of your gold on websites like thiswhere someone may decide they really like something that's obviously good, and then go with it commercially themselves. That's a risk that we all take when we post here
But someone else here on ATL who's in the business may have other ideas or better suggestions....There is no glamour in sudden death, and nobody ever wins a war.
