Can you help me with the translation of this song?
Noc u Sibiru
Noci u Sibiru, lavine u hiru -
to njeno srce ledeno.
Da li ona cuje
vapaj kroz oluje
da je moje srce prepuklo.
A ja , ja nisam kriv,
Nikome duzan sve dok sam ziv.
Pred bogom priznat cu sve ne bojim se
Da varala si ti,
Ti bas tu, zbog ove ljubavi
Bog nek ti oprosti
Nevolje me tuku
drze me za ruku,
vojska suza dusu probija.
Kao vuk u svetu
krvarim u begu.
Jedan gubi -
drugi dobija

A night in Siberia
A night in Siberia, avalanches in caprice
That frigid heart of hers
Does she hear
My cry trough the storms
That my heart is broken
And me, I'm not guilty,
I don't owe anything to anybody*, as long as I'm alive
I'll admit everything in front of God, I'm not scared
That you cheated
Yes you, because of this love
May God forgive you
Troubles are beating me,
They hold me by the hand,
The army of tears pierces my soul.
Like a wolf in the world
I bleed in escape.
One loses -
The other one wins.
* - "obliged to no one", would be the default translation -
and a little help with this?
Svako ima onog kod nema
Sve mi je tu na ovom tlu
sve moje slabosti moje kafane
najbolji dani i svi jarani
Sve mi je tu na ovom tlu
sve sto sam tesko stekao
a svemu bi samo zbog nje
svemu zbogom rekao
Ref.
A samo je ona jos uvek daleko
zbog koje zivim zivot boema
samo je ona veciti dokaz
da svako ima onog kog nema
Sve je na svom na putu mom
kako sam zeleo
a sta mi treba da budem srecan
jedini ja to znam
Tu mi je sve, sve osim nje
sve sto sam nekad sanjao
al malo je koliko mi ona nedostaje -
Sve mi je tu na ovom tlu // Everything is right here for me on this earth
sve moje slabosti moje kafane // All my weaknesses, my cafes
najbolji dani i svi jarani // My best days and all my friends
Sve mi je tu na ovom tlu // Everything is right here for me on this land
sve sto sam tesko stekao // Everything that I've striven for
a svemu bi samo zbog nje // But just because of her, to all of this...
svemu zbogom rekao // I'd say goodbye to it all
Ref.
A samo je ona jos uvek daleko // And she's only thing that's still far away
zbog koje zivim zivot boema // For that, I live the life of a boheme
samo je ona veciti dokaz // Only she is the eternal proof
da svako ima onog kog nema // That everyone has someone who is not there
Sve je na svom na putu mom // Everything's on its own on my road (everything is as it should be)
kako sam zeleo // Just as I wanted it
a sta mi treba da budem srecan // And what I need to be happy
jedini ja to znam // Only I know that
Tu mi je sve, sve osim nje // Everything's here for me, everything except her
sve sto sam nekad sanjao // Everything that I once dreamt of
al malo je koliko mi ona nedostaje // But it's little, how much I miss her -
The title is missing
Svako ima onog kog nema // everyone has someone who is not there
1. "Everyone has/possesses the one whom he/she actually doesn't have/ possess"
2. It's easy to have (to think you have, to imagine you have) sth/sb who doesn't exist. (not just absent, but doesn't exist at all)
3. No.1 may develop in one different direction so I don't know could we imply it here, but exists as possibility:
Which belongs to no one, belongs to everyone. -> Everyone has (claims belonging to) what no one has (because it belong to no one)
Thinking experiments...
But just I'm guessing ... in the end, maybe you're right. He/She is not there. Full stop... my brain is maybe strange todayLast edited by ina; 09-26-2011 at 12:48 PM.

You mean the words mentioned in the title are translated in the lyric of the song. The title is not, since it doesn't exist there. Every song has one.
(šalim se bre, lagano!)
What's "kod nema"?
Hteli ste reći "šta nema"? Radije je "koga nema" nego "šta/čega/koga nema"?Last edited by ina; 09-26-2011 at 12:57 PM.

How many times are you gonna edit this message?
The title given in the original request was "Svako ima onog kod nema". The actual title I believe is "Svako ima onog kog nema" which is translated in the song.
Whether I translated that title as well as it could have been, eh whatever, I think the basic meaning is having someone who isn't there, whom you don't actually have.
I'll be very careful from now to always be certain to translate the title separately, no matter what. -

Let's edit it again!
Better edit than leave it unfinished!Last edited by ina; 09-26-2011 at 02:57 PM.
