    Default Older Hip-Hop Song

Hello all. I need a song ID'ed and, sadly, I don't have much to work with.

Some context: My brother was really into hip-hop and rap in the 90's. Jay-Z, Big Pun, AMIL, Mos Def, Method Man/Redman, and dozens more. There was one particular song from this time period that was his favorite. It was mine, too. Maybe it's just me idealizing it because it has proven to be so elusive, but I believe it just may be the Greatest Song in the World. I just need to hear it again.

Here's the only excerpt I remember. It is from what I am 90% sure is the chorus of the song:
"I still don't understand how they did it, how they made their music prove you're very so so deaf"
This was sung by a female. Or a very feminine male. But I'm pretty sure it's the first one.

I've been trying to hunt it down for years, with no luck. I actually called a local hip-hop DJ at one point and sang what I remembered for him. He believed it might have been a song called "So So Deaf" by The Def Squad. I cannot find any record of such a song existing.

My life will never be complete without hearing this song one more time. Please help.
