The Christmas time has started already here in Austria. Christmas songs appear now and then on the radio and one day I heard a song that I love and I wanted to find the lyrics, but my search was unsuccessful. I just found a "video" of the song at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qA95gBIQSgI.
So I started to write them down myself, but some parts are (at least for me) difficult to understand. So here is what I have so far:
Send a prayer – Errol Brown
For all those people still hungry on this day
All those people suffering their lives away
For all the children that today we give a toy
When come tomorrow take away their joy
For those on this day feelin’ captivity
For the many others still fighting to be free
So many promises seems we cannot keep
To [rid] this world we share of it’s [lack of peace]
So, let’s send a prayer to heaven on this christmas day
Send a prayer and heaven shows the way
Send it for the children, send it for the poor
Send it on this christmas day, the last for evermore.
All those with voices that were never heard
Those too afraid to say a loving word
All those whose heart [????????] was ever filled with fear
For a world that’s dying, let us show we care
So, let’s send a prayer to heaven on this christmas day
Send a prayer and heaven shows the way
Send it cause we need a helping hand
Send it on this christmas day, [please ??? down to man.]
Cause we got a problem that we cannot heal
[Send it to hell so this] miracle you can reveal
Send a prayer to heaven, send it for what it’s worth
Send it on this christmas day [please help down to world]
Send a prayer to heaven on this christmas day
Send a prayer and heaven shows the way
Send it cause we need help from above
Send it on this christmas day [?????] the gift of love
The text in [brackets] is where I have problems to understand, but there may be mistakes even outside the brackets. I really hope that somebody can help me on this one and thank all of you in advance. When I was a teenager Hot Chocolate was hot and I also love several solo songs of Errol Brown and this christmas songs is definitely one of my favourites.
Thanks in advance,
Jason King
PS: I registered here just to ask about these lyrics and I tried to find them here and in the rest of the internet. If for some reason I missed it and wasted your time, I apologize in advance.
