Default Here Comes A Rockin Band

    From a fire down under
    Rockin in on thunder
We will force our way into your mind
    Society rejects
    Unsociable breed
    We have the will
    We will succeed

    We're here to rock you
    And rock we will
There's no better hobby than a job with a thrill

    Here comes a rockin band
Come to take your promised land
    Here comes a rockin band
    Here comes a rockin band

From a place of hard knocks
    Headin for your jukebox
We won't stop until we make it there
    Undeniable misfits
    Incorrigible men
    We can't be stopped
    We're comin in

    We're here to rock you
    And rock we will
There's no better hobby than a job with a thrill

    Here comes a rockin band

Thanks Rickey. I never listened much to Grand Funk. I may hit Youtube and take a listen to some.

Yes,very "We're An American Band"by Grand Funk Railroad."There's no better job with a thrill",is better than that "hobby"reference.Calling your band a "hobby"cheapens the song and your band.

Thanks for reading Doug. You might have misunderstood what I was saying. Actually, their hobby is playing music and rocking, and it's their job also. The band isn't the hobby, the music is.

I understood what you meant.I stand by my first Reply.Reducing music to a "hobby"even if it is,I feel,is making light of an honorable profession.(and hobby)

I look at it like this. Most musicians say that music is their hobby when they have factory jobs (At least my friends do) and those that get paid for playing still consider it a hobby but also a job. The greatest job I could have would be as a steady paid lyricist, but it would still be my hobby. If your hobby becomes your job, that's the greatest job ever. It doesn't lessen the hobby or the job, it merges them. (IMO) So I respectfully disagree but also note where your coming from. I would never make light of the profession. I'm just seeing it at a different angle I guess. Let's agree to disagree. Because I absolutely respect you.

lol...no not an Aussie but I have always wanted to visit there. I thought of "Fire down under" with the idea that a fire had been lit under them to get them moving onto their goal. A relative of mine thought it referred to Hell but that's not quite what it references. "Promised land" refers to America. It has a double meaning. Mine and those with the AC/DC mindset. Which is my private secret....at least it was. lol

I am a musician (professional singer and guitarist who also composes and arranges.) LookNGlass puts the profession under the loupe and
has a point: I consider that my hobby (guitar+vocals) became my profession. However, it would be incorrect to put it forward as a hobby as it is not.
The audience likes to think that a musician is "born that way" Even if that picture is unreal - the amount of time rehearsing is beyond imagination -
the listener likes to think that way.
As long as a musician doesnot consider music as his/her profession things are different, of course. I don't have time for another job, neither can it make music my "second job". Maybe those who make a living from something else and make also music can consider it their hobby
