Spiral Legacy
"Everest,
You spire through mists and reason
For who knows how long I've been
Here, painting
The world
Above and below
With only a
White blank frame to stare at
But, with a view more
Than anything I could
Expect
My words for this inspiration
Would be that of what
Moon walkers would say
"I wish to see the world as it is"
And I, the mere painter and backpacker
Would venture beyond if so
To mark my pilgrim
Right here
On top
One stroke at the time
So the question is
Why do we strive to reach
Something, which is not
But right in front us?
I gave myself that task
At this age of mine
To do something of worth
So I faced the vastness
With just a brush and a palette
Channeling my hands
Upon the hour
Before it became ice
Doing what had to be done
Alone, but at peace
I watched
As the galaxy kept going
Like an carousel sinking
Deeper
The depths
Are...approaching..."
For those who,
If my frozen body should be found
You will know
A smile is all it takes
To know what happiness is
I dedicate this spiral legacy
To you who so bravely fought
Yourself
Was it worth it?

Gr8 you published that here! It is worthwhile and there is a beautiful line here:
"A smile is all it takes
to know what happiness is"
How very true indeed!
BTW: I wonder have you see the Everest?
Must be wonderful indeed
Thanks for letting us share this poem of yours -
The title has been lingering in me for quite some time, so it was good to finally release it into something
Never been to Everest (would really love too though ^^) but I picture it as the same feeling walking on the moon....almost :P
And thank you, I made some slight changes. Did you like it this way?Last edited by Eccer; 04-18-2013 at 12:57 PM.
