    Default Tough Town

    This is Nashville
    If you ain't tough
    You will be
Or you don't have a prayer

    This is Nashville
    They roll in here
    From everywhere
    This old town don't care

    It's a Tough Town
    It's seen it all
    You'll go home
    If you don't have money

    Tough Town
    We can all sing
    We can all play
Got our own songs, son (honey)

    Think your songs are good
    They all think that
    And that's why
    They leave good jobs behind

    Leave their girl friends
    Leave their boy friends
    They have no clue
    'Bout the hell they'll find

    It's a Tough Town
    It's seen it all
    You'll go home
    If you don't have money
    Tough Town
    We can all sing
    We can all play
Got our own songs, son (honey)

    Bridge:
    There's room at the top
    For only a few
    I'd bet my last dollar
    It ain't you

Very nice! If you hadn't mentioned Nashville in the song, I would have thought it was about L.A. I always thought Nashville was different, less competitive, more a 'pure music town'.
'I'd bet my last dollar It ain't you'. Mmmm, such a line lands me (aspiring songwriter) firmly on my feet.
I imagine the music to sound like JJ Cale.
