    Default Ghost of You

There are ghosts of you in the shadows around,

Their faces are taunting but they can't make a sound.

Though you say you are here, I know you are not,

It's in the darkness around that your presence seems to haunt.

My blood is running cold, the images are blurring,

I'm losing myself, my words are slurring.

    Where did you go?

    I can't find you anymore.

    My heart is still shattered,

But it's you I still adore.

    I swear your ghost moves,

    Maybe it's just inside,

I've got nothing left to lose,

I've got nothing left to hide.

Even now when I feel your touch,

The thoughts of us are just too much.

I pull away and pretend I'm okay,

But the truth is I have no words left to say.

    Where did you go?

    I can't find you anymore.

    My heart is still shattered,

But it's you I still adore.

    I swear your ghost moves,

    Maybe it's just inside,

I've got nothing left to lose,

I've got nothing left to hide.

Don't you see the games you're playing?

You act like it's nothing, the lies that you're saying.

I'm still so vulnerable, though I know we are done,

I'm trying to heal, though the pain has just begun.

Your ghost is closing in, trying to capture me,

I don't know what it's going to take before I can be free.

    Where did you go?

    I can't find you anymore.

    My heart is still shattered,

But it's you I still adore.

    I swear your ghost moves,

    Maybe it's just inside,

I've got nothing left to lose,

I've got nothing left to hide.

Wow,Kerri!Just by fate came here, and you posted another classic song lyric!I'm totally in love with your honesty in your writing;i feel your pain and bliss.I wish you'd post the date you wrote these songs, just to know if it's an "oldie" or something more recent.I guess it makes me feel more in tune with the piece.Your songs have great rhythm and rhymes. That,to me,is how a great song is written!

    Oh goodness well thank you!
Actually, mostly all of what I've posted is old. I don't have exact dates, but most are at least a year old. Up to 4 years. The only 2 really new ones I've written are Better Days and Coming Home.

I am blown away by this song! It is melodic and rhythmic, sensitive and powerful. Do you have any music in mind? Something in the style of Tracy Chapman's Fast Car?
