I've been listening to a lot of 'Gaslight Anthem' lately, this song (to me) sounds similar to some of their stuff. Hope you like it

Having just read it through again, the only thing I would possibly change is the 6th line of the chorus. Instead of 'But I was always old from the start', change it to 'But I've always been old from the start'?
