I roamed the earth for a change
I saw the things children of men do to one another
I was a stranger without a face
I bet you wouldn't invite a hungry stranger to supper?
I know we're all soul starved
And I tell you wholeheartedly
No one is more soul starved
As a soul, soul starved as me
It hits right at the heart of me
Things just aren't the way they ought to be
I sat at the side of the road
I was the one with the sign and a broken down car
I carried the heavy load
Would you carry it a little further if it wasn't far?
I know we're all soul starved
And I tell you wholeheartedly
No one is more soul starved
As a soul, soul starved as me
It hits right at the heart of me
Things just aren't the way they ought to be
Not for you
Not for me
Things just aren't the way they ought to be

I'm glad, after reading a few of your latest song lyrics, that I found one I really dug.I hold you on a higher level;I think you're the best undiscovered talent on this site.I like this one,not your best........but it's got potential.Keep on rocking in the free world......while it's still free......

Your writing has Old Testament overtones.

Thank you Doug. I've been in a funk lately. But I figure if I produce 3 good songs out of 10 then that's okay. I always appreciate the praise and encouragement as well as the critique.

Jim. You are right. I was even thinking of the story of the Good Samaritan before I wrote this song. Very perceptive.

You have spoiled me;if it isn't a Masterpiece I'm often disappointed!Seriously;you do write great stuff so when it's merely "good" I don't think it's as good as your former Classics........if you get my drift. Also, thanks for the reply on Without Love.Let's see if it gets any more feedback.........
