Burton St.
Asked a stranger
For somewhere to eat
She said theres no more stranger
Then here on Burton St.
Saw a baby
Wearing a toupee
Advising Siamese Twins
To go their separate ways
Burton St.
A place nobody knows
Has gotten so crowded
That no one ever goes
Watched a juggler
Throwing life into the sky
Said he juggled 2 jobs, 3 kids
And a polar bear on fire
He performed for the owner
of the Bridal Boutique
Who married a divorce lawyer
When he said I love you I think
Waved to the blind barber
getting measured for some pants
By a conflicted tailor
Whose wife owns a nudist camp
Burton St.
A place nobody knows
Has gotten so crowded
That no one ever goes
The homeless real estate agent
Gave me sage advice
He said Never read a fortune cookie
That mentions Jesus Christ
He said Get off of Burton St.
Before it turns to night
Just turn left at the communist coffee shop
And righteous at the lights
