Default Song or Artist name? help please

I haven't heard this song in I would say, 4-5 years, and it's a classic rock song, I am going to say a mid 70's song, the singer, sounds like Robert Plant, from my memory, now that doesn't mean it is him, I'm just saying, that is what I remember, and the only words I can remember from it, is this " come on back to clear water" or "bring it on back to clear water" one of them, they may not be exactley right, but that is what is said.

If anyone has a clue to what it possibly might be, or any help at all would be appreciated, thanks.

EDDIE MONEY - GIMME SOME WATER???
Mama never understood what it’s like for a losin’ man.
When her number-one son goes bad playin’ cards with the devil’s hand.
Boy, Daddy got real sick so quick ******* never understand.
I was the one who got good with the gun, took the money from the rich man’s hand.
    Gimme some water!
‘Cause I shot a man on the Mexican border.
    Cool, cool water…
    Gimme some water.
    I need a little water…
Jimmy grew up so fast, then he met me at the pass one day,
    Said, “You’re a wanted man – Take your brother’s hand –
I’d be runnin’ with you anyway.”
So we rode late in the night like the fires of the desert sand
Till one day the posse caught us ‘cause the sherriff always gets his man.
    Gimme some water!
‘Cause I killed a man on the Mexican border.
    Cool, cool water…
    I need a little water…
Oh, Jeez, I just can’t loose my hands!
I’ve run just as fast as my legs can!
But, Lord, I got no room to run!
Shouldn’t a done what I did with that there gun!

    Hey, hey, yeah!

    Gimme some water!
‘Cause I killed a man on the Mexican border.
    Cool, cool water…
Can’t you… see that long white rope
    Hangin’ from the hangman’s tree?
Take the restless horse – tie my hands, of course -
Tell my mother that I’m finally free.
Let me die like a man no one understands –
Let me pray – Let a poor man pray!
Smack that horse in the ***.
With my last, dyin’ gasp, my brother could hear me say,
    “Gimme some water!”
‘Cause I shot a man on the Mexican border.
    Cool, cool water…
    Gimme some water.
    Gimme some water!
‘Cause I shot a man on the Mexican border.
    Cool, cool water…
    Gimme some water!
    Gimme some water!
‘Cause I shot a man on the Mexican border.
    Cool, cool water…
    Gimme some water!
    Gimme some water!
‘Cause I killed a man on the Mexican border.
    Cool, sweet water…
    Gimme some water!

VAN MORRISON - AND IT STONED ME???
Half a mile from the county fair
And the rain keep pourin' down
    Me and Billy standin' there
With a silver half a crown
Hands are full of a fishin' rod
And the tackle on our backs
We just stood there gettin' wet
With our backs against the fence

    Oh, the water
    Oh, the water
    Oh, the water
Hope it don't rain all day

    [Chorus:]
And it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like Jelly Roll
    And it stoned me
And it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like goin' home
    And it stoned me

Then the rain let up and the sun came up
    And we were gettin' dry
Almost let a pick-up truck nearly pass us by
So we jumped right in and the driver grinned
And he dropped us up the road
We looked at the swim and we jumped right in
    Not to mention fishing poles

    Oh, the water
    Oh, the water
    Oh, the water
Let it run all over me

    [Chorus]

On the way back home we sang a song
But our throats were getting dry
Then we saw the man from across the road
With the sunshine in his eyes
Well he lived all alone in his own little home
With a great big gallon jar
There were bottles too, one for me and you
And he said Hey! There you are

    Oh, the water
    Oh, the water
    Oh, the water
Get it myself from the mountain stream

    [Chorus]

    Try the following songs:

"Cool, Cool Water" by The Beach Boys
"California Saga" by The Beach Boys
"Cool Water" by HANK SNOW, Frankie Lane, Joni Mitchell and other artists
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

    Default Green River?

Well, take me back down where cool water flows, yeah.
Let me remember things I love,
Stoppin at the log where catfish bite,
Walkin along the river road at night,
Barefoot girls dancin in the moonlight.

I can hear the bullfrog callin me.
Wonder if my ropes still hangin to the tree.
Love to kick my feet way down the shallow water.
Shoefly, dragonfly, get back tyour mother.
Pick up a flat rock, skip it across green river.
    Welllllll!

Up at codys camp I spent my days, oh,
With flat car riders and cross-tie walkers
. old cody, junior took me over,
Said, youre gonna find the world is smouldrin.
And if you get lost come on home to green river.

    Welllllll!
    Come on home.
