I said it twice - it cannot be pronounced as "çiçi", because in Greek there is no "ç". It's pronounced as "dzidzi".

I meant no offence. Just gave you an answer, hoping you'd understand what I was trying to say.
... Guess I overdid it with the harsh tone, which I apologize for.

I got what you said about the pronunciation and the word's being a loan word and so on... I just didn't expect and understand the way you told them to me. because I asked my questions in a kind way I think and I expected the same behaviour... anyway, never mind. no problem.

And I remembered the word; it's "cici" in turkish. e.g. cici kız "pretty/sweet girl" . I think "ta" in "ta tzitzi" is an article, maybe it has the same meaning as "cici".

Yes, it is a definite article (neuter, accusative), but it means "tzitzi" is plural.

The slang word that comes from Turkish, that is τζιτζί, was just an additional comment to the discussion. I mentioned it, because it came to my mind.
It's not the same as the word that appears in the song. That word, I believe, comes from Italian. Maybe from "gigi" or something like that. Although I haven't got the slightest idea what this "gigi" could mean. lol
Or perhaps it's just a dialect island word I've never heard of.
Actually, Turkish wasn't that common there, as the physical presence of Ottomans on the islands was slight.

In other circimstances "cici" would do.

σάλα in some parts meant as living room, in others like σαλάγατα the pastoring of ships (and it's a verb), τζίτζι could it be τζιτζίκια?

    Default tzitzi

Hi guys, I just read about the comments of tzitzi and wanted to put some words for it.
Well I am not 100% sure but I suspect that it might come from the turkish word (if the origin of song is thought to be like that) cici pronounces as= djidji and means "pretty" uses for girls like pretty girl sweety girl ..Like tzatziki for instance, in turkish is called cacik... since we turks have many words in common with greeks and since the word of "dj" or j as english dont exist in greek they pronounce is like "tz" tzitzi

Well I guess like that :-)
