His on white pillow on his dying bed
His face burned in smoke and his eyes turned red
with his barkin voice he commands to the maid
call for me my boy my john on the stand
and his son he marshed right through his father tent
saying whats the matter pap oh why are you so sad
oh nothin son it just strikes me like the thunder from the sky
why are you still here while your comrades are out in the war?
I love my brothers dearly father and they are heros just like you
They ll bring golden medals just like you used to do
But i dont want to fight i dont like the war
Anyway there s no reason to kill your neighbour for
Father he just shake his head and for a moment remainded still
And then he came yelling you could hear it from the hill
Did i raise a coward what s the matter with you
Dont you love your country like everyone else do
John was against it all but he listened what his pap had to say
And in a breake of morning you could see him getting away
His gun was black and so where his boots
And his mind was burning like fire from the lust
When the came to the battle he was placed in first row
And that was realy bad thing as all of you sure know
Ahh he fought in very hard and he gain medal with that way
But his heart was turning cold you could hear someone say
Anyway he sent letters home every month
And father was proud my john is a solder he could say infront
Smoke turned light in the midnight sun As war was finally done
Well both sides counted the dead on their side of line
Many months have passed but there was no trace of john
And all the other boys got home from the war
Then one day filled with worry thru and thru
Man came in Carrying johns rifle in his right hand
John fight well and he was brave i must say
But you wont see your boy again cause hes gone away
And father he started to shout and his face turned red
As he got a fatal heart attack
Now two graves stand one to the other
On of the son other from the father
And some rain falls on the yonder
Theres nothing to say but one thing straight
That wars a devils game and you avoid it under every cost
