Actually, Nurlev, the songs you mentioned above are not traditional. Yes, they are all time classic, but "Siko horepse syrtaki" for instance was written by Giorgos Zampetas for the movie "I kori mou i sosialistria" (1966). "Fragkosyriani" is a song by Markos Vamvakaris, etc.

Syrtaki is a popular dance, but not a traditional one either. As a matter of fact, it didn't exist till... some 45 years ago.

So, what are you really interested in, popular music or traditional one? Sometimes, of course, they intersect.

Well my dear nurlev you're NOT asking for traditional greek music.
You simply wanna know some classic songs.

So the entries ooNIAoo suggested are a nice selection of what you asked for.

BUT sirtaki is a rhythm that Greeks don't use to dance so often as you may think.

    We mostly use to dance:

    1)Zebekiko (mainly masculine dance)
    3 classic examples of zebekiko

Vrexei fotia sti strata mou :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCuCy5TBGso (you have to wait about 1,5 minute after the start of the video)
    To zebekiko tis evdokias :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7PWmybPyY8
    Zeibekiko (M'aeroplana kai vaporia):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvHjGzEXiWA

    2)Tsifteteli (mainly feminine dance)
    Example
    Pote voudas pote koudas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhdqowGXDkE

    3)Chasapiko
    Example
    Chamena: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxcncSkMXgg
    To dyxti: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS5q71dAxFI

    4)Chasaposerviko
    Example
Eimai erotevmenos me ta matia sou: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhZe0gw7Scs
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"

Well first of all, the songs ooNIAoo suggested are ALL classic Greek songs.
So I think that you should listen to them too if you want to know about our joyful moments.

Now about Greek traditional songs things are a little complex....

"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?

Um, not exactly. Two of them are rebetika songs.
"Bournovalios manes" and "O doktor" are traditional ones, yes - folksongs from Smyrna (Izmir). Of course, you know the Turkish song "Aman doktor".

P.S. That "Tsahpin" you're talking about is "Tsahpina Amerikana", I presume.

P.P.S And yes, there's nothing like "Vrexei fwtia sti strata mou". Γειά σου, ρε Στράτο!
