Default Kabah - La Vida que Va

I at least claim to speak Spanish... but parts of La Vida que Va by Kabah have always confused me, it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. Any help?

si pienso no siento solo estoy,
si pienso no siento solo estoy,
la vida que viene y yo me voy.
la vida que viene y yo me voy
    Y si me siento,
    y yo me voy.
    El viento lento va,
    mil mares el silencio,
    un beso de cal.
No sé y no soy, por un solo momento,
me va me voy viviendo del juego de pensar,
si pienso no siento solo estoy,
la vida que viene y yo me voy.
la vida que viene y yo me voy

This song is way too abstract for my little mind. I translated it as best as I could but would welcome some HELP from all you very intelligent people!!!

node_ue - I speak Spanish but this was very tough for ME to understand so don't feel bad, maybe your Spanish is better than you thought! After this, I think mine is worse than I thought! ha, ha!

    La vida que va
    the life that leaves
La vida que viene y yo me voy.
the life that comes and I am leaving
It always happens like this, life goes by and I leave
y siempre a tiempo no hay tiempo si viene y voy
and always on time, there is no time if it comes and I leave
from the sky to the ground, two moons go against the wind
    y un beso de sal.
    and a salted kiss
No se y no soy, por un solo momento,
I don't know and I am not, for one brief moment
me va me voy viviendo del juego de pensar,
it leaves me, I'm leaving, living from the thinking game
si pienso no siento solo estoy,
    I feel, I don't feel, I am alone
la vida que viene y yo me voy.
the life that comes and I am leaving.
La vida que viene y yo me voy.
the life that comes and I am leaving
while it turns, while the earth turns, I am leaving
while life loves its mind, I'm leaving,
    el viento lento va,
    the wind slowly goes
    mil mares el silencio,
    a thousand oceans the silence

    un beso de cal.
    a kiss of lime
No se y no soy, por un solo momento,
I don't know, and I'm not, for a brief moment
me va me voy viviendo del juego de pensar,
it leaves me, I'm leaving, living from the thinking game
si pienso no siento solo estoy,
    I feel, I don't feel, I am alone
la vida que viene y yo me voy.
the life that comes and I am leaving.
La vida que viene y yo me voy.
the life that comes and I am leaving
    Y si me siento,
    and yes I feel
I feel that the story that I'm telling is leaving.
and if I find in the story that the life
    que viene y se va.
    that comes and it leaves
    y yo me voy.
    and I am leaving
    El viento lento va,
    the wind slowly goes
    mil mares el silencio,
    a thousand oceans the silence
    un beso de cal.
    a kiss of lime
No se y no soy, por un solo momento,
I don't know and I am not, for a one brief moment
me va me voy viviendo del juego de pensar,
it leaves me, I'm leaving, living from the thinking game

si pienso no siento solo estoy,
    if I think, i don't feel, I am alone
la vida que viene y yo me voy.
the life that comes and I am leaving.
la vida que viene y yo me voy
the life that comes and I am leaving.

I'm with you Damarys. This song is abstract to say the least. Your translation is pretty 'spot on'. The line above I think can be translated as: 'If I think I do not feel I only am.' But then again I could be wrong. I guess it all depends on whether the singer is a male or a female. And again, this song is ambiguous and I think the lyrics were meant to be mysterious.

It's a woman, so your translation is correct.

Also, I think the song uses many odd turns of phrase, for example:

Mientras da vuelta de vuelta la tierra, me voy

While damarys translated it as "while it turns, while the earth turns, I am leaving", which makes sense as a translation, I always thought more along the lines of "while the earth turns again, I leave" (using "de vuelta" to mean "otra vez"). Everything seems kind of ambiguous, and I think a couple of the words might be wrong anyhow ("mientras se ame en la mente la vida me voy" should be, I believe, "mientras se amen, amen de la vida me voy").

Also, "un beso de sal" certainly makes sense but what about "un beso de cal"? Who knows!

It is a difficult song. Your assessments make sense, but who knows?
Also 'cal' is lime, a substance made out of calcium hydroxide. Maybe that's where the word "cal" comes from.... calcium? I don't know... it's not a "poetic" word, that's for sure.
Maybe we could move this discussion to the "lyrics" section for some deep dissection! ha, ha!

Indeed... I think the point of the song is that we run away from life by thinking about things. We think instead of doing, it's a sort of game, and when life comes, we go into our heads to think instead of living and doing and especially feeling. There's no time to stop and think about every little thing before we do it, life is short. Basically suggesting that we let our feelings guide us instead of getting wrapped up in logical considerations.
