Hey, Can someone please translate this lyric for me? :-)

    Oliver Dragojevic
    Nedostajes mi ti

Kad bi htjela ti da budes
    moja luka, moje more
    moja ljubav zauvijek
kad bi htjela ti da budes
    moje noci, moje zore
    moja sreca zauvijek

Ja bih htio da te vodim
    putem njeznosti i snova
    da te vodim zauvijek
ja bih htio da te volim
    ovim putem sve do bola
    da te volim zauvijek

    Ref.
Nedostajes mi ti i ove noci
    nedostajes mi ti
tvoj smijeh, tvoj glas i oci
    nedostajes mi ti
    a noc je duga
    nedostajes mi ti
za san, za mir, za ljubav

    Nedostajes mi ti
    (4x)

    Ref.

    I Miss You

    If you wanted to be
    my port, my sea
    my eternal love
    if you wanted to be
    my nights, my dawns
    my eternal happiness

    I'd want to guide you
on the road of gentleness and dreams
    to guide you forever
    I'd want to love you
on this way all the way to the pain
    to love you forever

I miss you, this night too
    I miss you
your laughter, your voice and eyes
    I miss you
    My nights are long
    I miss you
for the dream, for the peace, for love

    I miss you

    Thank you :-)

By the way - the title of the song - is the "ti" actually not necessary for the meaning? I know that the sentence uses dativ case for logical subject - but would it be enough with "nedostajes mi"?

Well I was thinking about it... and you are right but there is no perfect way to put it in English.. The other option would be "You're the one I miss" which literally means: "ti si ona koja mi nedostaje"

Yeah, because in croatian you are using a form that is not used in most other languages (I think they use it in French also) - where the direct translation would be something like "for me, you are being missed"

I just need to keep remembering it :-)

I started studying Croatian in university this fall - so I find it really interesting :-)

    Thanks again!
