Far Away From Nowhere
The dreamers are all retreating,
As my eyes drop with the sun,
So used to this bedroom,
But I won’t sleep ‘till one.
I’m tired of these posters,
That I once hung with pride,
Now my heroes look down at me,
But I can’t raise to their eyes.
Trying to get far away from nowhere,
But this black hole’s pulling me in,
This town is a smoking gun,
And I’m piercing the wind.
As the blackness turns to a chill,
The coals I’ll continue to turn,
As black as they’ve been lately,
Cause I’d rather they burn,
I don’t know what tomorrow will bring,
Or what yesterday conceived,
The best thing about this place,
Is you know you want to leave.
Trying to get far away from nowhere,
But this black hole’s pulling me in,
This town is a smoking gun,
And I’m piercing the wind.
I’ve heard that wishing is wasteful,
And that idleness is a crime,
But when your world won’t turn,
Its hard to keep with the times.
Trying to get far away from nowhere,
But this black hole’s pulling me in,
This town is a smoking gun,
And I’m piercing the wind.
