Rai Music mostly describes music form north african countries (Algeria, Maroc, Tunesie). Rai means something like "hope". In Rai music often political and social things/problems are sang about.
Famous singer: Cheb Khaled, Rachid Thaha, Cheb Mami

Chaabi /Shaab means FOLK MUSIC
Ahmed Adawey is a typical Chaabi singer

SHarqi means "east"; talking about raqs Sharki music, they means music for oriental dance

This is what I was told or I have learned.
I would also appreciate any additional informaiton or corrections

I even do not know also what RIF is.

"Day after day" is Rai.I never think that it will be rai because i believe that the
in the song is use egipt dialect.

Oh, I do not speak arabic, so I can´t tell you anything about the dialects.

I know Larosa from this froums comes from Tunisie, maybe she comes across this topic an can tell us more. El Raisa is from egypt maybe she can help as well.
