Se spunea c-a fost odată,
Pare straniu, dar să vezi
În poiana din pădure
Trăia capra cu trei iezi.

Nu departe de-a lor casă
Cu nărav şi-acelaşi trup

Găzduia bătrânul lup.

Ca vecini, păreau prieteni
Capra bună, lupul blând,
Iezii fără griji prin curte
Mai zburdau din când în când

Iar odată, când se-ntoarse
Capra din vecinul sat,
Ce să vadă, în căsuţă,
Iezii toţi erau sub pat.

Nu-nţelese ce se-ntâmplă

- Măi să fie, zise capra

A trecut bătând la uşă
Într-o glumă, moş arici?
