I'd like to know if someone can translate this. It seems to be in a dialect (Ikavaski) or some archaisms:
Putokazi - Naranča.
Oj divojko jabuko rumena
Pari da te ma naranča rodila
Nije mene naranča rodila
Za goru me mat moja rodila
Bura mi je zibarinka bila
Zipjuć me je va more stavjala
Mornari me va mrižu lovili
Prodali me biloj Katarini
Katarina dobra žena bila
Ka je mene ma bilu odgojila
Z bilim kruhom
I crljenim vinom

Yes, the song is in dialect using some archaic words, I'll try my best here:
Oj divojko jabuko rumena
Oh girl, you rosy apple
Pari da te ma naranča rodila
You seem like you were born from an orange
Nije mene naranča rodila
No, I wasn't born from an orange
Za goru me mat moja rodila
I was born for mountains by my mother
Bura mi je zibarinka bila
Northern wind was my cradle
Zipjuć me je va more stavjala
It was lulling me into the sea
Mornari me va mrižu lovili
The fishermen caught me in their net
Prodali me biloj Katarini
They sold me to white Catherine
Katarina dobra žena bila
Catherine was a good woman
Ka je mene ma bilu odgojila
When she raised me as hers*
Z bilim kruhom
With white bread
I crljenim vinom
And red wine
*I'm not really sure about this line, but I think that's pretty close to the overall meaning of the song. -
Zipjuć me je va more stavljala means while i slept she placed me on the sea. And "za goru me mat moja rodila" is correctly i was born by my mother for hills.
Gora= hill , planina=mountain.Last edited by Annamaria; 03-19-2013 at 07:59 AM. Reason: found more mistakes

Ka je mene ma bilu odgojila is wrong. It has not sense.
Ka je mene ma vilu odgojila= when she raised me up as a sorcerer.
