Solved: I need help identifying a song

OK Here's a tough one. I was in Kohl's in Bangor Maine (in May) and this song came on. I couldn't really hear the lyrics that well what with all PA announcements and such but the voice sounded smooth and fairly deep (maybe black). It wasn't a rap song but the chorus was a little bit like rap. The tempo was about 100. It was steady 4/4 time and then he'd say (not sing) something in three or four syllables then repeat what he just said. So the first bar in the chorus was just music and went .... One, Two, Three, Four. The second bar was when he came in, da da da da, da da da da. Third bar.. One, Two, Three, Four and fourth bar him again.. da da da da, da da da da. The music sounded like a typical G, C, D rock progression but funky. That's all I could get from it. It ain't much to go on. Any ideas?
