This is kind of a satirical song and I'm wondering how good it is. This isn't meant to insult religion, just hypocrisy. :3
Hey Son (A Hymn for Modern Times)
Hey son let's go to Church, it's where tradition lives
It's where we go to talk to Jesus and obtain all that he gives
He provides us with great things, like bland rock stars and guitars
We'll take this day our daily bread and ruin hymns some more
Hey son let's go to Church, let's eat the Eucharist
Let's rip off doctrine from other guys and manufacture lies
We'll choose what we want to believe, we'll go and mix and match
God will love our truthfulness and we'll ensure that our souls last
We know that Jesus died for us, laid bare upon a cross
The greatest way to honor him is to change around his laws
As if our higher power gives us awesome moral fiber
But remember if you want his love you'll have to pay a dollar
Hey son let's go to Church, let's all learn how to love
Doesn't matter if someone's Pagan, Buddhist, or Muslim
Oh wait you're at the wrong place, time to test fire our guns
You've forgotten about the rapture, and the new revolution
Hey son let's go to Church, in the name of Jesus Christ
We'll burn it to the ground because we know it isn't right
We'll make off like Satan's minions under cover of the night
And when the sun arises, we shall all begin anew
A place where we can go to worship without their silly rules
And all you must remember to be in our denomination
Is that all hom -ose- xuals are a cursed abomination
And they can't build a mosque at ground zero!

very spot on"I'm a ruler that wears a pair of boots with low heels; Why yes I am a lady King. Does this bother you?" -
I love it! I love the contradictions made between what religion seems to be meant for and what it blaintantly does. Unfortunately most religions have become nothing more than power hungry institutions, so I can't help but agree with everything that you put down. Let's see some more!
Have you ever seen blood in the moonlight? It appears quite black. Have you ever seen spiders crawling on the graves?
