Well my friend, most of people live their lifes promising theirselves that they will
correct their actions as to fit close to their dreams.
They promise theirselves that their work is only a temporary bad thing!
That they will be travelling, will be enjoying their lives, will have the time to
spent with their families, to educate their children.
To feel filled up!

But that thing doesn't happen to everyday people.

That's what the song's talking about.

1)στο πιο ψηλό κοντάρι
(standing) on the taller pole (to have better view)

2)να δώσω μια να τιναχτώ
to jump as to lunch myself

3)να κάνω την πατέντα
to make some plans (here used with the meaning of "to make plans for avoiding troubles")
