Anyone who can help, I'd be much obliged.
My girlfriend heard this song on the radio at a bar the other night, but I was too wrapped up in baseball to remember when she mentioned it. I'm prety sure its' as song from the 70s/early 80s. When she tried to ask me, she mentioned the lyrics "In My Eyes". She also thought the phrase "When I call your name" and "Never gonna be the same" were in there. As in:
When I call... your name../
We ain't ever gonna be the same../
However, I can recognize only the melody, and can't vouch these are the exact lyrics. And I eventually can't help but get it mixed up with the Beatles' "You Won't See Me" and that song "It's Too Late To Turn Back Now", both songs that kind of have brief similarities to the one I'm looking for. For some reason I also ran it into Tommy James' "Crystal Blue Persuasion" as well.
It's a fairly well known song, and she seems to think it is by a band with a male singer. Initially I was thinking Jackson Browne or some other singer/songwriter. It sounds like something Carole King could've written.
Anyway, thanks to anyone who can help. Argh.
