********************
There was an old cowboy
Known as the "Stranger"
Wore a black mask
Like a Texas Ranger
An expert poker player
A gifted banjo picker
Liked Chinese opium
Mixed in his liquor
No one braver nor bolder
No one cooler or colder
Beware of the danger
Talkin' bout the Stranger
Although,he was Wanted
For being a fast draw
No bounty hunter dare cross
This fearless outlaw
People would spot him
During full moon light
Creeping thru lovers windows
In the middle of the night
No one braver nor bolder
No one cooler or colder
Beware of the danger
Talkin' bout the Stranger
Finally caught sleeping
At an opium den
Not a night in jail
Was he destined to spend
Nothing less than
A magical showman
Wasn't a steel cell built
That could hold him
No one braver nor bolder
No one cooler or colder
Beware of the danger
Talkin' 'bout the Stranger

Doug, I really like the "other-timely" poetry/lyrics you write. This song is a natural for music. You should write the music, get famous, get rich!
-
I hope it's not back to the "Bad Old Days"with nobody giving comments or very few.I see new people posting their songs begging for feedback, yet giving little themselves. This one got one reply when I first posted it.Since then I've commented on hundreds of Threads;Quid Pro Quo!You can quote both me and Hannibal on that!
-
Who's Hannibal?
-
Lector, from "Silence of the Lambs"and it's great follow up by Ridely Scott's "Hannibal".
He says this to a F.B.I. Agent whose trying to get information out of him."You tell me things,I'll tell you things;quid pro quo".After giving 100's of Replies, encouragement and what have you,it's now Quid Pro Quo!You give me Replies,I'll give you replies! -
Yes, of course, Doug. :l THAT Hannibal! Only saw the ads; don't know the dialog.
-
I assumed you didn't see the film,Although Jodi Foster and Anthony Hopkins both won Academy Awards for Best Actress and Actor that year. The movie has quite a few of "quotable lines"from it.Let's see if the Quid Pro Quo makes a difference,it'll make my life easier! No more spending hours telling people how great their songs/poems are!

A really good lyric like this dosent need quid pro quo my friend. Its impressive enough in itself. So many chord progressions can make this a good song. I'm thinking it as a song with either a spanish feel or something like The Doors kind of style of music.

Thanks Razor!Since I've already posted a Reply on every single one of your songs......I can't do much about quid pro quo.I looked at The Last Note, but you said it'll be reposted. Thanks for the kind words,I appreciate it more than you'll ever know.
