Song: I wanna hug you and kiss you and...

I was at a pasta restaurant the other day, and they had this really nice song playing that I'd like identified.

Unfortunately, the only line I can remember is, "I wanna hug (hold?) you and kiss you and..." It was repeated very often throughout the song. Female singer. The song was upbeat and catchy, the kind you want to shake your shoulders to, but probably not dance to.

If it's of any help, the other songs on the playlist sounded old, say 50's-80's, mostly love songs. Not the slow, sad types, but the slightly more lively kind.

I don't know why, but while the song was in english, it made me think of french tunes.


This is *very* little information to go on, I know, but I'd be very grateful if anyone has ideas. Googling that line and variations of it turns up nothing even remotely close.

While the original is with male lead vocals, there have been a few covers.

Maybe it's "Teenage Kicks" by Nouvelle Vague. They are a French cover band.
