Hi all,
Looking for a 70s/80s pop song. I wrote the chorus down when I heard it on the car radio ('oldies' radio in rural Australia) but have lost it. What I can remember is:
Fake 'brass' sounding synth, a tacky sounding electric guitar and drums are in the background, and it's a fast-ish song in 2/4 time (e.g. kick, snare, kick, snare) similar speed and style to the music in Nutbush City Limits. A man with a deep voice (a la Brian Ferry) is the only singer, and he says something like 'when all is said and done/there's nothing else to do/nothing left to do (or something like that) ...well let's dance' in the chorus. He may say 'the last dance' but it's definitely ' ???? dance.' He repeats the 'let's dance' line a couple of times, and at the end of the song there's a few minutes or so of just the brass synth and guitar. The fake brass has a silly little riff each time he says 'well let's dance.'
I use FL Studio so I've created what I remember the music in the chorus to go like:
