Liked Dennis Quaid in the movie, and we were surely missing Jerry Lee Lewis from the list!

For today 3 Great guitar players playing ballads.
This is the alternative one with Stéphane Grappelli on violin, included in Experience edition of "Why Pink Floyd...?" re-release campaign.
And even if I liked that violin solo a bit too much, David Gilmour's guitar playing is still there.

"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping" -
Ozzy Osbourne - Mr Crowley
Randy Rhoads playing his 2 solos in this famous live of Ozzy Osbourne's "Mr Crowley".
Watching the reactions of Ozzy during the last 25 seconds of the vid makes me lol.

My #1 greatest music artist...my birthday bro. Love his musical greatness as well as the depth of his heart. I could have chosen 20 other songs but since this is a 'Rock' topic i decided to go with one of his more energetic songs, and also bcs it's one of his 'story' songs that he always did so well.
"Hello, I'm....."

Johnny Cash - I Walk The Line

This is J.C.'s voice not Joaquin Phoenix....
This is the original recording....from 1956?... it has some great info in the video description

"Crazy" tune, with a very cool video on the front end.

Deep Purple - Hush
What? No. Zip it. Hush.
Hush
Hush
I thought I heard her callin' my name now
Hush
Hush...
Naah nah-naah naah nah-naah naah nah-naah naah...
I got a certain little girl she's on-a my mind
No doubt about it she looks so fine
She's the best girl that I ever had
Sometimes she's gonna make me feel so bad
Naah nah-naah naah nah-naah naah nah-naah naah.....
Hush, hush
I thought I heard her callin' my name now
Hush, hush
She broke my heart but I love her just the same now
Hush, hush
I thought I heard her callin' my name now
Hush, hush
I need her lovin' and I'm not to blame now
(Love, love)
I got her early in the morning
(Love, love)
I got her late in the evening
(Love, love)
Well, I want that, need it
(Love, love)
Oh I gotta gotta have it...
Y'all ready for this?
[cwV3hQJAWNc]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwV3hQJAWNc[/video]
She's got lovin' like quicksand
Only took one touch of her hand
To blow my mind and I'm in so deep
That I can't eat y'all and I can't sleep
Naah nah-naah naah nah-naah naah nah-naah naah
Hush, hush...

PS: That Franz Ferdinand post is a very cool tune and a fine addition! I wouldn't have thought of him if my life depended on it. Salut
PPS:
- I did a character count on our first post in the Index. At first I came up with a current count of almost 80,000 characters, but then I thought of an easy to reduce it to about 45,000. So there's still a lot of room to expand the "alpha" index, to about double the current length.
- But: That will make a very long list; probably more than a thousand songs. I don't really thing we want that. Do we?
- So I've worked up an alternative for a "master list" ... Take a look at > THIS <, and then tell me if you think I should just delete that long list we already have on page 1 of the index, and just use an "off-site" table as a master quick-reference... ?
... and just leave your clickable A-Z table, Amethyste, as the primary focus of the Index? There is no glamour in sudden death, and nobody ever wins a war.
