It's a longshot but I'm looking for a song I heard yesterday and have heard several times before, so I'm expecting lots of people in the forum have heard it.

It's a mellow laidback song with the main focus on a female vocalist. Her voice is very familiar and mumbly but I can't put my finger on who it is. It sounds like someone like Jem or Sia.

The lyrics of the chorus from what I could heard sounded something similar to, 'Linger and linger and lingeeeeer. Why do you...' and then I couldn't heard any more.

This is pretty laid back; soft female voice, strings and acoustic guitar. Is the song you're looking for more mellow, etc?

How about "Linger" by Edyta Gorniak? She's Polish and her english may sound a bit mumbled if it's an alternative language for her.

Just to stress, those lyrics I heard could very well be wrong... I couldn't hear what she was saying properly, I just wrote what it sounded like. I'm positive people will have heard this song and I think the artist is quite popular because I recognise her voice... I just can't think of who it is.
