Hello,
I'm looking for an old song that has the words "airborne" and "flying away" in the lyrics.
Does anyone know the artist and title of this song?
Thanks.

Have 3 possibilities
"Airborne" by Killer
Something broke the silence
Something interfered
Something made me promise
Something I can't keep
Something got me started
Something told me off
Something got me running
Something made me stop
But to leave me out of love, to cut me from the core is killing me
And I can't breath, but if only
I was airborne I'd fly away, I'd fall from grace
I'd fall headlong and come around in a better place
Where you, you would love me too
Just like I love you
Something's off my shoulders
Something drags me down
Something I left open
Is letting something out
So many times that I called you up
And I tried to let you know that I'm so in love
And I know how you hate when I talk too much
Yet I told you stuff, but is was not enough
"Barbados" by Typically Tropical
[Cockpitvoice:]
Ladies and gentlemen, this is captain Tobias,
We'll welcome you upon coconut airways flight 372,
To Bridgetown, Barbados,
We will be flying at a height of thirty thousand meters,
At an airspeed of approximately sixhundred miles per hour,
Refreshments will be served after takeoff,
Kindly fasting your seatbelts,
Refrain from smoking until the craft is airborne.
Whooo, I'm going to Barbados,
Whooo, back to the boundaries,
Whooo, I'm going to see my girlfriend,
Whooo, in the sunny carribean sea,
I don't wanna be bus driver all my life,
I've seen to much of brickstone town, in the night,
Fly away, on coconut airways,
Fly me high, Barbados sky,
I look up at the sky and I see the clouds,
I look down at the ground, and I see the rain go down the drain,
Fly away on coconut airways,
Fly me high, Barbados sky,
Whooo, I'm going to Barbados,
Whooo, back to the boundaries,
Whooo, I'm going to see my girlfriend,
Whooo, in the sunny Caribbean sea,
Far away from London town, and the rain,
It's really very nice to be, home again,
Mary Jane with the coconut airway,
Now I know, she loves me so,
Whooo, I'm going to Barbados,
Whooo, whoo back to the boundaries,
Whooo, I'm going to see my girlfriend,
Whooo, in the sunny Caribbean sea,
[Cockpitvoice:]
Ladies and gentlemen, we're now coming to our approach to Bridgetown, Barbedos,
The weather is fine with approximately a temperature of 99 degrees Fahrenheit,
The sky is blue and the country are really cool,
Captain Wilkos and his crew hope you had a pleasant flight,
I liked you fly coconut airways again,
Whooo, I'm going to Barbados,
Whooo, back to the boundaries,
Whooo, I'm going to see my girlfriend,
Whooo, in the sunny Caribbean sea,
Whooo, I'm going to Barbados,
[Bridgetown, please fasten your seatbelts]
Whooo, back to the boundaries,
[...]
Whooo, I'm going to see my girlfriend,
[...]
Whooo, in the sunny Caribbean sea,
[...]
Whooo, I'm going to Barbados,
[...]
Whooo, back to the boundaries,
[...]
Whooo, I'm going to see my girlfriend,
[...]
Whooo, in the sunny Caribbean sea.
"Aces High" by Iron Maiden
There goes the siren that warns off the air raid
Then comes the sound of the guns sending flak
Out for the scramble we've got to get airborn
Got to get up for the coming attack.
Jump in the cockpit and start up the engines
Remove all the wheel blocks
theres no time to waste
Gathering speep as we head down the runway
Gotta get airborne before it's too late.
Running, scrambling, flying
Rolling, turning, diving, going in again
Run, live to fly, fly to live, do or die
Run, live to fly, fly to live, Aces high.
Move in to fire at the mainstream of bombers
Let of a sharp burst and then turn away
Roll over, spin round and come in behind them
Move to their blindsides and firing again.
Bandits at 8 O'clock move in behind us
Ten ME-109's out of the sun
Ascending and turning our spitfires to face them
Heading straight for them I press down my guns.
Rolling, turning, diving
Rolling, turning, diving, going in again
Run, live to fly, fly to live, do or die
Run, live to fly, fly to live, Aces high.
Thanks for trying to help but i've listened to all of the above songs and they are not the one that I'm looking for.
Well heck. I guess we'll just keep looking. Do you recall the music type like rock, folk, etc? Male, female, band, duo, etc?
It's a band and I think that it's a song from the 80's
heyyyyy i stumbled across this while searching online trying to find the same thing. i have a memory about someone singing it but it wasnt any sort of pop or techno or anything like that, it was just a singer. it went kind of like "ladies and gentlemen this is captain ...."
It's not "airborne", it's "Airport" and it's by The Motors.
