I'd love some term of endearment for a man.

Here are some additional "darling" words and phrases I already know, but I'd brtter leave it to the Persian speakers to translate:

azizam
azizam delam
azizeh delam
jigareh toram (jigar = liver; translates literrally to: you are my liver, but it's a term of endearment)
khoshgeleh (only for a woman and nice after someone's name - it's what I'm called all the time)
joon
joonam
baba joon

ghorbonet cheshmat beram man (cheshmat = eyes, you can apparently replace that with any other suitable word)

We've had 'mimiram berat' translated as I die for you... that's the literal translation, but I'm reliably told that in English it would be more like, I sacrifice everything for you.

Ben Türkiye'den katılıyorum. Farsça'yı ben de hoş buluyorum. Belirli bir amacım yok öğrenmede. Sadece hoşuma gidiyor. Bakalım ne kadar öğrenebileceğim.

Başlarda Farsça şarkıları sadece hoşuma gittiği için dinliyordum. Açıkçası Farsça öğrenmeme yardım edebileceklerine inanmıyordum, ama gördüm ki özellikle günlük Farsça'ya aşina olabilmek için baya yararlı oluyorlar. Şimdi şarkıların sözlerini de elimden geldiğince edinmeye çalışıyorum. Hatta birisin Türkçe'ye çevirip arkadaşlarıma gönderdim.

Artik nedense taktim kafama, Farsca'yi iyi konusabilmek istiyorum. (Kesinlikle göründügü kadar iyi degilim henüz.) Beni ara sira sasirtiyor bu dil, hep Türkce üzerine bile yeni seyler ögreniyorum. Örnegin Türkce'de derler ya:

sessiz sedasiz --- (Persian: seda=voice)
her derde deva --- (Persian: deva=medicine)

Ben bu sözlerin anlamini tabii ki biliyordum önceden, ama tam olarak "seda" ve "deva"nin anlamini bilmiyordum.

Ya da "bi zahmet"i hep "bir zahmet" olarak biliyordum, ayni "bir gün"e "bi gün" denildigi gibi. Oysa ki, "bi" "without" demek Farsca'da. (Persian: bi zahmat=lit. without trouble) Yani ben hep "bir zahmet olmasin, bi zahmet olsun" demek gerekiyormusum bunca zaman.

Yok, hayır. Türkçeniz kötü değil. Ben de Farsça'yı öğrenirken çok şaşırtıcı, eğlenceli şeylerle karşılaşıyorum. Türkçe'de o kadar çok Farsça kelime var ki! İşte bazı örnekler:

pencere, aşina, sebze, baba, dayı, hala, sert, hayli, hem, derya, çay, çiş...

Türkçe'den giden kelimeler de var:

dolma, kelle-paça, açar(araba anahtarı için kullanıyorlar) ...

Arapça'dan gelen kelimeler başka bir alem. Onların aldığı Arapça kelimelerin neredeyse hepsini biz de almışız.

Bütün bunardan dolayı Farsça bana yabancı bir dil gibi gelmiyor. Hem sözcükler, hem de dilbilgisi açısından benzerlikleri çok. Bir de, İranlılar da bizim gibi Ortadoğu toplumu oldukları için hayata bakışları, düşünceleri, yaşayış biçimleri benziyor. Bunlar da Farsça'yı bize daha da yaklaştırıyor.

Ben de sizin gibi "şu Farsça'yı konuşmalıyım" diyorum. Umarım zaman bulabilirim.

i'm learning because i guess you can say i'm fluent in spanish and english and german caught my eye i loved it! and alittle easier to learn than japanese and farsi (duh) hah but i just want to have an advantage y'know it'd benefit me and since i like it so much why not i only took two years of it in high school so i know so little of it and i know alots of basics i had stopped learning how to use two verbs in a sentence when one is kicked to the end but i know that you can only do that with certain irregular words mind reminding me bitte!
