Solved: help!!!

I have had a song stuck in my head for a couple of weeks.
I think the chorus is hold on baby hold on when theres nothing you can do(another line after that) then it goes back to hold on baby hold on
its a rock song late 70's or early 80's its sung kind of softly but not real soft if you can understand what i mean.
