present:
ja nastupam
oni nastupaju
ja odgađam
oni odgađaju
ja se veselim
oni se vesele
ja krećem
oni kreću
( I donćt know what is poručinati/naručinati you mean poručiti/naručiti)
ja poručujem/naručujem
oni poručuju-naručuju
for zakasniti there is few possibilities. zakasniti means "finished" verb - to come late, but kasniti is to be late. zakasniti is already "in the past" so it is not used in present (only like continuous tense expressing repetition ja zakašnjavam, but this is rarely used, i am not sure do i know correctly
past: ja sam zakasnio/zakasnila
ja (na)zovem ( telefonom - by phone)
oni (na)zovu
ja nazivam (imenom - by name)
oni nazivaju

hi zdravo
i'm new new beginner of serbian language.
because i could not find serbian grammar book, now i begin to study by croatian
book.
are both of them nearly same in spelling or grammar.
thanks. razvodnik.
(i'm private in the battle of serbain language.) -
Razbodik, yeah they're nearly the same. There are some differences, but if you learn one, you'll be able to understand the others without much extra effort. The months are different, and there are a few words that are different. Like they say rajčica in Croatian and paradajz in Serbia for tomato. But mostly you should be fine. There are a lot of regular differences between the languages, so if you learn what those are you should be able to figure out what it would be in Serbian from the Croatian word. Like razumijem (I understand, Croatian) and razumem (Serbian). prije - pre (before), dvije - dve (two, female), osjećam - osećam (i feel). Also there are a few grammatical differences, the main one being that they use the infinitive more often in Croatian.

hey guys.
ok so my dad was 100% Croatian, unfortunatley he passed away about a year go, but i was always interested in my family's language and i really want to learn croatian. could anybody give me some advice or teach me a few things or help me find ways i can learn it on my own.
thank you so much!!! -
Hi Amberdancerxo8! Sorry to hear about your dad. Maybe there are courses at where you live, so you can learn Croatian? Also I'd think it's good to listen to music or watch Croatian movies/tv shows. If you have any questions about the meaning of some words or songs or whatever just ask!

Amberdancerxo8,
The best way is to get a self-study book...of course if you don't have this possibility where you live, you can simply just learn from this forum. Check it out from page 1.
There are many nice members who are always willing to help...
Best of luck!!!Mivel mindig az okos enged, már rég a hülyék uralkodnak... -

šta znači "zmurila" ?
eh, googled some more and one dictionary said it mean "to squint". but does it have some slang meaning? "jesi li mene zmurila, a?" is the sentence i'm trying to understand.Last edited by pthalo; 11-26-2008 at 01:43 PM.
