Gosh I'm so tired of translating Oliver
And everytime I translate something I have this feeling that lyrics sucks... but actually my translation sucks xD
''Glupost je sama u sebe zaljubljena i njeno je samoljublje bezgranično.''
''Siamo niente senza fantasie''
''Наверное мне место на луне, но страшно оставаться в темноте''
lol
don't be silly! your translations are useful! Especially because of some specific CR words
but I can imagine you're tired! you translated A LOT! : )
aw and it's not you of course! some of the lyrics are seriously hm.. bad! lol I suppose most of the charm of his songs is in his voice!
Well, thank you!
True, some of the lyrics there are really bad... as you say it's all about his voice.. .or it's mostly his voice![]()
''Glupost je sama u sebe zaljubljena i njeno je samoljublje bezgranično.''
''Siamo niente senza fantasie''
''Наверное мне место на луне, но страшно оставаться в темноте''
I`m just curious but what music do you listen? And artists? The people here that are from Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia??
Because the most music that I listen is the music that almost everyone knows like Ceca, Seka, Sinan .. but i`m curious to what you listen!![]()
Nije ljubav sve sto vidis.. zato pazi kome zavidis!
I listen to all kinds of everything - except stuff like that annoying Sateliti Hana and other similar stupid folk songs
I love Haris Dzinovic though and lately, I like Al Dino's Kopriva a lot ..
I used to listen to Ceca before but she became no better than above mentioned so .. I quit on her too.
My top choice would kinda answer tedinky's question too.. I love Oliver, Gibonni, Azra, Boris Novkovic, Severina, Parni valjak .. Magazin, Doris Dragovic, some Vesna Pisarovic songs
and
Bosnian: Crvena jabuka, Dino Merlin, Hari Mata Hari
I also used to like Vlado Georgijev, Zdravko Colic and Zeljko Joksimovic (SR) but got sick of them..
aw and I hate Garavi Sokak and Marija Serifovic!
But all of the above are kinda special mood choices so.. depending on my current mood, I listen to different things.. Right now - I'm in a mega Faithless mood! loving the songs Woozy, Addictive, No Roots, Kind of peace .. and I will probably over doze on them like I did on Mattafix, Grey's Anatomy Sound Track, Justin Timberlake, James Blunt...
I also love Tiesto etc. and sometimes I'm in the mood for Turkish or Indian or Arabic music.. really depends...
[that was long and messy.. but you did askand I could continue I guess
]
@ Spring: why do you hate Marija Serifovic? lol
@ Paulien: from ex-yu I listen mostly to music from Serbia for now.But I'm not a massive fan of turbofolk. I do like some songs but I recently really avoid it. I love mostly Funky G . They're half-folk half-dance... I prefer the dance part
Also I like some particular songs of pop-singers like Zelko Joksimovic, Marija Serifovic (sorry draga Spring) and Jelena Tomasevic, a group called RespeCt ... also I downloaded recently the album of Milan Stankovic ( actually I liked him after I watched him in "U tudjoj kozi" - a srb fun-show) and May recommended him to me.He has nice songs, not too much turbofolk...yes, I know he's in Grand production but well, I like him
From Croatia - for now only particular songs... I liked a rock-song that D & M sent meAdastra - Nabujena rijeka... actually I have mostly songs sb else sent/recommended to me from Croatia.
From Bosnia - almost nothing.I don't like Regina or Dino Merlin, the most famous ones, sorryThere was a singer Maya whose song I liked a bit, Paulien you may try it, it's called Crno zlato.
From Montenegro - Sergej Cetkovic that Adrienne recommended to me - Odlazis. From Vlado Georgijev, Andjele
From the other 2 - Macedonia and Slovenia, mostly Karolina Goceva,Tose Proeski (mkd) and Sanja Grohar from Slovenia.

Azra, Riblja Corba, Prljavo Kazaliste, Bijelo Dugme, Divlje Jagode, Crvena Jabuka, Plavi Orkestar etc.
actually i love the whole 70/80'ies yugo rock scene !
apart from that, currently i'm discovering that i like Balasevic more and more and Oliver and this kind of dalmatian stuff is also not bad when i'm in the mood.
and i hate turbofolk with a passion, there are maybe 2-3 songs that i can listen to.
btw. is Regina really popular ? i never heard of them before i came to this forum![]()
Oh I also hate turbofolk with passion :P
''Glupost je sama u sebe zaljubljena i njeno je samoljublje bezgranično.''

I'm not from ex-YU (just a few kilometres north) but I'll chime in.
I listen to:
Serbian: Neverne Bebe, Galija, Jelena Tomašević, Teodora Bojović, Goca Tržan, and some Nataša Bekvalac, Funky G,
Croatian: Urban, Nina Badrić, Antonija Šola, some Haustor, Aca Lukas (but only some songs)
Montenegrin: Sergej Cetković, Emina Jahović,
Macedonian: Jovan Jovanov, Toše Proeski, Mizar, Arhangel, Vrčak, Anastasija
+ some others i'm forgetting![]()
I'm stronger than the tricks played on your heart. We look at them together then we take 'em apart. Adding up the total of a love that's true, multiply life by the power of two.
@ miki
Regina was popular before then kinda disappeared but now became popular again because they represented Bosnia at Eurovision and I guess people liked their song and their new album tooI am not totally thrilled about them but they have some really good songs and good lyrics (unlike the freak that represented BIH last year)
As for the translations.. yeah.. I'm not happy about the requests either.. It's a real refreshment when someone asks for something from Crvena Jabuka or .. (I wont make the list again lol)
@ tedinkyyy
I don't know how to tell you this without sounding like everything I don't want to sound like so.. I just hate the sight of her! LOL
I liked that freak who represented BIH last year! That was a cool songBut I don't remember his name.

Woow you guys listen to so many artists that I don`t know :P lol
I have a friend here in Holland but he`s born in Serbia and sometimes I make cd`s for him with serbian music but I only put music at the cd`s that I know.
And I told him about the artists that you all mention here and I said to him: " I really don`t know music from these artists" and he said: "yes but you only listen to all that stupid music from Serbia " lol
@ Spring: Tiestogreat that you like him! I was at his concert a few weeks ago and it was sooo great! Finally an artist from Netherlands that someone here knows lol
@ Tedinkyy: I thought I have heard this song but i`m gonna listen to it now on youtube.
Nije ljubav sve sto vidis.. zato pazi kome zavidis!
About turbofolk I only can say Serbian and Bulgarian lyrics are definitively the most vulgar ones. The last trash I had the misfortune to find is Stoja - Da li si za sex ... that's why i find so many common things between Serbians and Bulgarians... in my opnion the music that is produced in one country shows too much of the spirit of its nation.i listened to much Turkish music before and they sound like our turbofolk/chalga ( or better: we sound like them) but in their lyrics u can never meet dirty meaning, as well in Albanians.
And I can say I see some common degradation in both Bulgarian and Serbian society.

You should check these bands out. You'll like them better than turbofolk, and your friend will too
I must admit, I liked turbofolk too before I understood the lyrics![]()
