To understand the meaning of this sentence , u must first have an idea about 'the legend of Leyla and Mecnun ..' In short, Mecnun was crazy about Leyla once upon a time. Then, as they could not be together , Mecnun began to fall in love with the love of God. Everyone was saying he was an insane, but he did so many things for her.However, the first one 'love for Leyla' and then the second one 'love for God' were so deep inside; and the second one was the real and eternal one.

in our culture and religion , some people who are conservatives dont like men wearing earrings. In our religion Islam , it is forbidden for men to look like women , so they should not wear earrings. In culture, it is nearly the same for some people that they dont prefer men wearing it as it is feminen again.
It does not mean a gay man everytime but it sth antipathetic for some groups.
