Dying to know what this song is?

I was in burgerking a few hours ago and they played this song. It sounded like a 70's or 80's song, and the beginning almost sounded like oriental-ish (don't quote me on this) and the first words in the song were "da-da-da-da-da-da da-da-da-da-da-da" with exactly that many "das" I couldn't hear any of the lyrics due to people being loud in the restaurant. It was a male singing the song.

I've listened to dozens of songs so far and looked in different forums for other people that seem to have asked for a similar song but I can't seem to find it. Anyone know?
