Still not it unfortunately. Think Ivy with just possibly edgier lyrics.

This is another one of my all time favorite songs from Kohl's:

"Four Leaf Clover" by Abra Moore

Also a pretty good song, but also not it. I wish I could help more, but the only other thing I can remember is that the song was being sung either to or about an unnamed boy or girl.

Still not the right one, but another great song. I've ended up getting half the songs you've shown me and I wish one of them was the one I've been looking for but still unfortunately no luck.

I'll keep looking. I'm sure that nobody minds hearing some vintage Kohl's songs.
BTW, when you originally posted that your mystery song sounded like a Garbage song, I first thought of this:

    "Connection" by Elastica

Not it, but still a fun song. Love the almost-all cardboard setups.

    On Edit:
    Here's one more:

    "Perfect Day" by Jann Arden

Not bad, but much more upbeat than what I'm trying to find.

Basically the song I'm looking for sounds like the Ivy songs I've but maybe slightly edgier. Removed the statement about "stupid girl" which I thought may have been part of the chorus because when I thought about it more I don't remember if it was "boy" or "girl" in the chorus or if she was singing "stupid", "sexy", or something else.

"Walking With A Ghost" by Tegan and Sara

    On Edit:
    Check these out:

I can't remember any lyrics for certain which is why searching has been so hard.
PLEASE help me! I'm so obsessed with this song that I'm about ready to start offering cash to friends or Kohl's employees who can help me find this song.
I went back to your original post just to see what you were first looking for. You really don't have a memory of the song, you have an impression of the song. Any of your later comments could have been false memories influenced by my choice of songs that I gave you.
This song is a possibility because it can give the impression of two female singers if you don't really know the song. It's actually a brother and sister on vocals.

No, but I do have that song too.

Truthfully, the best hints I have to go on are that the woman/women who sing the chorus did so at this tone and in this tune http://www.i-heard-it.com/index.php?...xt=mp3&noframe
It has been out for years and must have either gotten some radio play or been in a popular movie before since most people I've hummed to say that it sounds familar but can't place it.

Here's one that I thought I'd share with everybody. It's a nice feel good song that they used to play a lot at Kohl's.

    "Live" by Jennifer Marks

Since I just finished watching Six Feet Under I might as well suggest Sia - Breathe Me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghPcYqn0p4Y

I recognize the tune you hummed but probably because it reminds me of Busta Rhymes - I Know What You Want (like someone said earlier).

Here are the reasons why I think this next song is a possibility:
When I play your Tune Sample at the same time as this song's chorus, they kind of match up.
The voice is overdubbed to sound like a duo. You can really hear it in the second verse and the final chorus.
"You set me free" could be mistaken for "you sexy thing" if you can't hear it clearly.
