Solved: Identify this Italian (?) song - audio clip

I've had excellent luck here before, and now here's another challenge. I believe this song is in Italian but I can't be sure since I don't understand a word of it. It's from an old tape (around 1980) so the sound quality isn't all that great and the beginning is missing but if anybody can understand any of the lyrics, please post them so I can continue my search.
