    Default What was this song?

It came out in the early 80's, 81 I think. It's a country song. Dixieland Delight came out the same year.

The lyrics at the end are something like "I'm sorry this letter is written in crayon but they won't give me a pencil here in the asylum".

It's about a guy who is writing to his X girlfriend that he doesn't need her and he's over whatever she did. I can't remember if she went with his best friend or what.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Could it maybe possibly be "'I don't remember loving you" by john Conlee? That's the only one that comes to mind. In that song he was in an asylum because her leaving him drove him crazy and he said "If you hand me my crayons I'll be glad to take your name"
