A soft womens voice - very simple (not rap or R&B at all). Kind of easy listening - but upbeat.

If you listen to the mp3 above its the NOTES that the woman sings, its an up beat, light pop song where the meloday kind of goes round and round. There's a bridge that takes off and I am reminded of Enyas (sail away) through it sounds nothing like it. Then comes back to the notes I posted.

It's a womens voice - the voice kind of sounds like Venessa Carlton- but a little more clear. It was playing a lot the same time that song of hers was popular. 2002-3 ish.

Again the beat is kind of up tempo, but very soft at the same time, kind of dreamy, cloudy, oceany....

I'm sure the tune I posted corresponsed at least 95% to vocal tune in the song. Don't remember any lyrics except she would say words in this rhythm: and I think it starts "I thought I saw you in a dream" although maybe not .

    "Access Denied!"

I assume the Vanessa Carlton song you are referring to is "A Thousand Miles": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cwkej79U3ek

The Voice in the song sounds a little bit like Donna Lewis voice in "Always Forever" and Cathy Dennis voice in "Too many Walls"

The "A Thousand Miles" was popular around the same time as this song.

Though I think the song is 2002-2004. It's upbeat tempo .... The lyrics are pretty much even paced and steady - and it kind of goes around and around.

    I'll upload another MP3. http://www.filedropper.com/song_3 For download.

I thought that too bugmenot, but problem is the year would be way off ("Whaler" album came in 1994 )

    No...THAT'S IT!

The local radio DJ just must have but it on heavy rotation that year. And seriously, I think he sped it up a bit too.
