Wrote these lyrics inspired in the movie "Black Swan" which I really liked and thought it'd give great lyrics.. It's more difficult for a person who has not seen the movie to understand them and I hope the people who did watch it feel the lyrics are true to it.... Tell me what you think
"Expectations Are Grand; I Am Grander"
Innocence is a cruel burden,
For that's not the Human nature.
That's not Nature at all.
What does it take to be seen
Innocence alone will not make you Queen?
Get out from under your mother's wing
And spread your own.
You do not have to follow her failed path;
Fight for your throne.
In the end, the World is a play
And we're all actors on a stage,
But instinct will make the World...
Pressure, pressure when you've to please hundreds.
Under the spotlight it's all a great ballet,
Behind the scenes, unseen,
They cannot see the pain of a mental, young, uncertain decay.
Feelings of a thousand ropes restraining your wings,
Your inner dark wings,
Your dark wings that you'll need to spread
To impress the people who brought you expectations,
Blood, sweat, tears and hallucinations.
But how nobody told you
Insecurity could give pleasure,
By shapeshifting into someone who haunts you everyday.
When you're empty of care
A little sympathy makes you sway.
Nothing is worse than seeing something that isn't.
In the end, the World is a play
And you want to make her PAY!
Where did she GO?!
You want to see her DIE!
Oh, how you want to see her fall
So you can spread feathers tall.
Cruelty and awareness of our world is growing.
Inside of you they're quickly growing.
Oh yes, they are.
Comfort to swim in the clouds of desire
And no fear of a deadly void,
Because what is there to fear
When you've grown your own wings?
Every swan has their fears
But fear of flying is not one of those things.
They're all clapping and cheering.
They're all on their feet as you bleed.
They're all standing how the Gentleman would expect.
They're all on their feet because you're not Beth.
They're all in awe because, yes, you were perfect.
In the end, the World is a play
And we're all actors on a stage,
But instinct will make the World...
In the end, the World is a play
And we're all actors on a stage,
But instinct will make the World your Lake.
