Hi
- Must : as Soorati_Angel said means bayad
- Will : shows the future form and becuase is farsi the form is depended on the subject it has 6 meanings
1. I will : khaham ---> I will go : khaham raft
2. you will : khahi ---> you will go : khahi raft
3. he/she will : khahad ---> she will go : khahad raft
4. we will : khahim ---> we will go : khahim raft
5. you will : khahid ---> you will go : khahand raft
6. they will : khahand ---> they will go : khahand raft
BUT remember generaly we omit "will" in translations and "I will go" is translated as "miram"

had their doubts as regards the translator links ( see earleir on this subject)
However, since our teachers have been shamefully absent:refacewe wonder, if soon enough they will forget all about us?

Hi,
for people who want to learn persian language, there is an important point! persian is an Indo-European languages. it's means that persian has a common root with european languages like english, french, spanish, northern, eastern european languages and so on. for more information see this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indo-European_languages
also there is too many modern words that coming to persian from the west. thist words pronounce the same way as in french.
and in addition, there is many arabic words in persian. arabic is religious languge and it is historicaly important for iranians.
if you use a dictionary with Etymology then you can find out that many of western words have a persian root.
you can find some sample in this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_words_of_Persian_origin
and for french words in persian you can see this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_French_loanwords_in_Persian
I think after this you can memorise many of persian vocabularies by this method.
I call it Etymologic method!
good luck.
movafagh bashid.
موفق باشید.

Hi
I have no idea about Indo-European language but as I red in the Wikipedia Urdu is an Indo_European not Persian.
About French words in Farsi I know that before world war 1 many of Iranian went to France to continue their studies and brought many French words with them. And it is not about having a same root with French.
Hi.
according to Wikipedia Urdu is an Indo-Iranian language. Indo-Iranian is a branch of Indo-European languages.
link:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indo-European_languages
and about french words in persian, I must say yes. indeed before world war II and long time after that French was the major second language in iran and it was teached in schools and universities systematicly . but also many of french words have persian roots.
my father said when he went to high school (in 1958) there was two choice for Foreign language between french and english.

hi guys!
Been off for a couple of weeks as I have concerts to do, but slowly returning to this thread now.
it has to be said:Seeing your conversation
- Persian language has been certainly influenced by other languages and vice versa
- to say that Persian langauge has the same root is probably incorrect, but can be understood as under the phrase above
- modern words have been worldwide influenced before all by english vocabulary (computerworld/technical studies)
- medicine has been influenced by Greek and Latin vocabulary, probably found in Persian language too
- give me examples of western languages influenced by Persian language???(I ask, as I don't really know)
mr amarin you said: Persian langauge has the same root is probably incorrect' did you read the article about indo european family?
this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indo-European_languages
and about modern words it's not correct. modernism was not start with england and what you said is correct about new technologic words some thing like computer terms but in other cases ferench is dominated.
greek and latin is not found in persian because these langages were not imprtant for many centuries . and about medicine , Iran for ancient era and middle age was the center of medicine. there was a university of medicine (Academy of Gundishapur) According to The Cambridge History of Iran, it was the most important medical center of the ancient world (defined as Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Near East) during the 6th and 7th centuries
[url]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_words_of_Persian_origin
and in middle age there were many Scientists of medicien in iran.
examples of western languages influenced by Persian language, you can read this links that I give befor :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_words_of_Persian_origin
and for french words in persian you can see this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_French_loanwords_in_Persian
