Shalom le kulam! Has the Kochav Nolad finale been aired yet? Who won??? I have had trouble finding the episodes on MAKO and I'm dying to know!
Best, Eva
Eva
I was just teasing them.
I guess I jinxed the poor guy ..he was voted out...but as you probably
know winning is no guarantee of success..where is Yehuda Sa'ado now ?
Chen Aharoni who came 4th is a lot more successful than him, not to mention Harel Ska'at's amazing career.
I'm trying to console myself. Please don't interrrupt me.
I need some "sad me" time. kidding .....
For me the show is over.
I don't really care who wins.
I'm waiting for Liron's disc and up coming shows.
Best of luck to your favorite artist.
At least you'll be happy.....my ....is over

Not to speak of Shiri Maimon, Idan Ahmedi, Omer Adam, Daniel Ben-Haim, Idan Sella (who sings Hebrew-Greek duets on one of the "taverna" shows)...and I'm sure there are many other contestants who were voted out or came second/third etc place, but who have also done quite well! I think the national exposure is the most important factor...then it's up to the contestants to do their best to further their careers after Kochav Nolad. For example, I definitely prefer Shiri Maimon to Ninet Tayeb, especially her collaboration with Shimon Bouskilla. Ninet seems to have aspired to became a rock star, but honestly, on the few songs I've heard she sounds like she is screaming rather than singing...but that is my humble opinion, of course.
Eva
I second that.
Shiri Maimon is definitely FONARA....
I never liked Ninet rock or no rock.
And who the hell is Idan Sella ?!
You see why we need to open a thread together ?
Don't forget to punch in the clock tonight at midnight (Greece and Israel) time.
Radio kardia fm ....two hours of Yiannis.

They are playing now To kalitero paidi.

**bateli777 - I think that liron should have stayed much longer in the show. He certinely was better than Tamar.

LOL! Rock music was never my cuppa tea either! I do love 60's and 70's soul music, though...
About Idan Sella, I don't remember which season he was on, but he disappeared rather fast. I saw him again on Yaron's show (I don't know his last name, he is a bald guy whose program features all the big Mizrahi stars), where he is the house singer together with Aviya Pinto-Idan sings the Greek parts. He also has his own channel on youtube:

new video! (i still can't love that song but he...)
Hi again,
Here is a cute clip with Idan and Aviya-it's quite obvious that it's in "playback", but I like their mix of voices...Aviya's soft and sweet and Idan's more masculine:

And the BEST version ever, with Itzik Kalah and Tamir Gal:
[6ezjmXChjYk]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ezjmXChjYk
The all-Greek version with Sfakianakis-I know that this is the original, and to some people Notis is the "Archontas"..... but in my ears his vocal skills are far below Itzik's:

Hakol Over (This Too Shall Pass)
************************
I was already so far away from you
And no words remained for us to speak
And the wind swept away a lone sail
And made it lonelier still
Awake from every dream and every whisper
This too shall pass
All that was once and was forgotten
Today will not return
It is every wrinkle carved deep into the skin
That today burns deeper still
For there is no way back
And this too shall pass
Every day follows another
And night follows night
And as long as nothing changes on this earth
It is good we stayed together
And that we have someone with whom to share
Despite everything there is no way back
And this too shall pass
Every wound that healed and reopened
Today burns even more
It mends and restores itself
And again it all bursts forward, even stronger
Now it does not fall apart and crack
And this too shall pass
Do you remember how we once were?
Facing the strengthening wind
And after all the bad years
Many better years came to pass
Our time rushes forward continuously
And never stops
[the translation of the song was taken from Idan's website]
Hi everyone,
One of the songs that you always hear in almost every season of Kochav Nolad is Zohar Argov's "Ad matai elohai"...expecially in the episode devoted to Mediterranean music. Here is Lidor Sultan from this year:
[iDgzLw997z4]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDgzLw997z4
I have learned from a Turkish cyber friend that this is originally a Turkish song, "Caresizim Caresiz". Being a classic song in Turkey as well, it has many versions on youtube. I picked a clip from one of those lavish Turkish shows with huge orchestras and singers in long gowns!
[IBUKfPq8tnM]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBUKfPq8tnM
And the Israeli-Turkish singer Linet:

It's kind of fascinating how a Turkish "arabesk" song has become an Israeli classic, and how it can performed in so many different ways. For example, Diana Golbi's performance, which I think was very fine, but in quite another style from the original oriental-style versions:

And some real Mizrahi style singing from Ofer Levi! I love this song, it's so sad and moving.

From Ofer's first appearance in Ceasarea (I think!), a few days ago:

Speaking of Sarit and covers and versions....here is my suggestion to a great trio
First the original.......N A T A S A Theodoridou PALI = AGAIN
[SEy91w6h4Qs]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEy91w6h4Qs&feature=fvsr
Following Sarit version here is Oshrit Malka from Eyal Golan's reality show. In my opinion Oshrit does it BETTER than Sarit. On that show that was searching for the new Mizrachit female singer ...Oshrit came 4th....formal reason: too Mizrachit Not formal: looks and authentic Mizrachi origins. The girl that was chosen is Moran Mazor ...a Russian classical pianist ...It is so sad that I can't even smile about it.
[8SKhBr4A9xE]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SKhBr4A9xE
And now Sarit who changed it to BA LI = I feel like
[gD91XbGaP28]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gD91XbGaP28
Why do stylists are trying to make female singers look like a pale version of Beyonce ?
Ploutarxos Gia Panta
Sarit's cover song is nice. but I like the original song of nurit galron.
bateli, I didn't see the t.v. talent show of Eyal Golan were he was searching for a female singer.
I saw only the final, and in my humble opinion, I think that Moran Mazor was beterr then the 2 finalists.
Here she sings in the final. nice song.
