in the end i could finish it..

    İşte gidiyorum here i go
Krşılıksız bir aşka kurban ettim ömrümü i sacrificed my life to an unanswered love
    İşte gidiyorum here i go
Toprak alsın benimde bu hazin öykümü the soil shall take this dolorous story of mine

İşte gidiyorum, gurbet yorgunu gövdemi [B]here i go, who will bring down[B]
Çukura kim indirecek my body which is tired of being homesick to the burrow
    İşte gidiyorum here i go
Bu menfur cinayeti, şimdi çıkıp kim üstlenecek who will take the blame of this abominable homicide

Çürüdü gözlerim, yüreğim, bu yağmurlu şehirde my eyes, my heart has been rotten in this rainy city
    İşte gidiyorum here i go
Beni kaldırın, hicran kalsın teneşirde raise me, let the sorrow on the bench which my corpse is washed

Size yüzyallardır sesini kaybetmiş - i was supposed to sing you a folk song
Bir türkü söyliyecektim... which has lost its voice for ages
Ve bir yayla şefkatiyle and with a flatland affection
Kirpiğinizin ucundan öpecektim i was supposed to kiss the tip of your eyelash

Bir masum türküydü sadece it was just an innocent folk song
Yüzbinlerce madurun gönlünde in the heart of hundred thousands of victims
Belki söyleriz hepbirlikte - maybe we sing together
Belki, mahşerin birinci gününde maybe on the first day of the last judgement

Nasıl sevmiştim hepinizi..nasıl böyle oldu akıbetim? how i loved you all.. how come it ended like this?
Ve nasıl çöle döndü and how did it turned into a desert?
O benim gül gülistan memleketim my rose, rose garden country

İşte gidiyorum, hiçbiriniz, hiçbir dilde beni anlamadınız here i go, none of you, in any languages understood me
Ben başımı verdim, sizinse i have given my head, but you
İnsafsız bir linç oldu karşılığınız responded with a confiscatory lynch

    İşte gidiyorum here i go
Penceresiz bir dünyanın labirentine into the maze of a world with no windows
    İşte gidiyorum here i go
''Saçlarındaki yıldızları koparabilirsin anne'' 'you can break off the stars in you hair mom'

Sonunda kaptırdım gönlümü in the end i am infatuated with
ölüm denen o kaypak türküye... the fickle folk song that is called love
Ve işte kurtuldun benden and you got rid off me
Şen olasın ey sevgilim Türkiye be marry my darling Turkey

Elbet benimde vardı of course i had too
Kendime ve yurduma dair umutlarım hopes about me and my country
Belki bıraktığım yerden sürdürür maybe they cantunue from where i leave
Dostlarım, karım ve çocuklarım... my friends, my wife and my kids

Çatladı yüreğim çatladı sazım my heart cracked, my saz (a stringed Turkish enstrument) cracked
Demekki böyleymiş yazım it means that this was my fate
Sizlere armağan olsun i present to
Sizlerden ödünç aldığım bu yürek sızım... this aching heart that i got from you..

Benim hiç hayalim olmadı anne i never had dreams mom
Ne seni rahat ettirdim, ne kendim ettim rahat neither i made comfortable nor i was comfortable
Bir mutluluk fotoğrafı bile çekdirmedi bu hayat not even a sinle happiness photo this life let me take
Kaybolmuş bir anahtar kadar sahipsizim anne i am as unowned as a lost key mom
Ne omuzumda bir dost eli, ne saçımda bir şefkat... neither is there a friend's hand on my arm nor affection on my hair

Say ki yollarda akan, şu feydasız çamurdan anne... assume that from that useless mud flowing on the road
Say ki ıslanmaktım, üşümektim assume that i was being wet, being chilled
Say ki yağmurdum anne? assume that i was rain mom

Bunca yıldır gözyaşını, hangi denizlere sakladın, for many years where have you hidden your tear into which sea?
Oy ben öleyim, sen beni ne diye doğurdun anne? oy let me die, why did you give birth to me mom?

It's really not a single problem.
I'm very thankful that you had the time to write this all
Was Yusuf Hayaloglu (R.I.P) very famous in Turkey?

actually, he was popular among Kurdish people. Ahmet Kaya composed some poems of his into songs, such as Hani Benim Gençliğim, etc.

this poem is dedicated to Ahmet Kaya again. He is a politic poet..
