I've got a fragment of a song going around in my head and it's driving me crazy. Unfortunately, I can't upload the melody to it here so I'll just have to post the words that I remember. I think it comes from a show, but I'm not sure which one. It's at least 40 years old, if not more, because I remember it from the early 60s but it's not 60s style, it's much more retro - supposed to be set around the 20s or 30s, I think - and it's a duet.
The lyrics I can remember are:
"I know now that there are ripples on a stream and that it's possible to dream. I know that now. {{something something}} ripples on a stream and that it's possible to dream {{something something}}."
Someone once told me it was from Mack and Mabel, but I've googled and there's nothing listed in any of the entries for it under "I know now" - but the words might be part of one of the songs anyway.
