Question The lights, the heat, the strobe, the SWEAT! (~1998)

Please, please .. if you know the name of this ~1998 progressive trance track, let me know! It's one of my fave old tunes and I'm desperate to it track down.

Over the course of the track, a husky voiced woman speaks the following spoken word lyrics (from a poor quality copy on mix tape):

"A nice warm feeling. And then a sense of openness. And then there were the visuals. And the overwelming urge to laugh. Then it was uncontrollable .. people smiling, extended body parts, bright colourful aura. And the overwelming urge to laugh. The lights, the heat, the strobe, the SWEAT! Lets all live the fantasy. Lets all BE the fantasy."

A bit of Googling turns up "Sweat" by "Stacey Pullen presents Black Odyssey". This seems to be a completely different track tho - it's a raw techno sound and only uses the "The lights, the heat, the strobe, the sweat" part of the lyrics.

The version I love was played about '98 by Pete Tong on UK Radio 1 and was a fairly slow tempo progressive trance/house track. It featured a simple 3-note synth melody that repeat thru most of the track, starting low and muffled and gradually becoming clearer as the track builds.

The "melody" (and overall track feel) was very similar to that on Sleepwalker's "The Pink Zone", which can be heard as the last track of the following mix (the "pan pipe" synth melody at 1:07:38):

I seem to recall after the "Lets all BE the fantasy" bit, the woman laughs several times, her vocal going through an electronic filter that creates a sort of "scatter" echo on her voice.

I'm praying this means something to you and you can point me in the right direction! Any clues, *please* give me a shout: allthelyrics[at]starurl.com

A million thanks in advance, BJ

An old one, where this same sentences are used, is from year 1995 by Superstars Of Rock, and is called Orange Sunshine, but as it's an older (and rare) track, then I could only find for you a 30 sec sample (i don't have this track myself, but it uses the words "the lights, the heat, the strobe, the sweat" according to discogs-info)
    sample: http://www.vinylexchange.co.uk/Produ...190&IID=790263
This one has also been on Pete Tong's Essential Mix at 29.3.1996: http://www.aimless.demon.co.uk/es/es960329.htm

Also, as I've got some tracks of Deep Dive Corp., then, one of those tracks has the same start; it is called Laugh. (Deep Dive Corp is from later time of course (2000), but the sample is the same, that's why i mention it )
    listen here: http://www.imeem.com/kukac/music/5cZ...ivecorp_laugh/
    or live video: http://apps.facebook.com/ilike/artis...ive+Corp?apv=1

    I hope, this information helps

Thank you Lollipop for your pointers - really appreciated. Both are good tunes, but don't appear to be the version I'm after - frustrating!

After some reading, it sounds like Orange Sunshine was the original track to include the vocal sample, and then was sampled on various later tracks from other artists. There are various remixes of O.S. - I'm Googling around trying to find samples from the various versions; it's possible one of the remixes is the version I describe, partic if the version on Tong's EM was a remix.

Deep Dive Corp is quite similar in *mood* to the version I'm looking for - the synth is three chord (but different notes) and the vocal is same, but it's def a different track. There's no twangy guitar on the version I'm looking for and, as described, the synth in my version starts really low and muffled and gradually "opens out" as it repeats, with the vocal over the top.

Any more suggestions / possible correct remixes greatly appreciated!

    Many thanks, BJ

Bugger - Orange Sunshine apparently included an "acapella" version .. which I presume means the vocal with no instruments. That means the version I love could in theory be a vocal-less track, with the acapella vocal mixed over the top?

Ignoring the "lights, heat" vocal for a minute then, the melody/track mood is very similar to that found on Sleepwalker's "The Pink Zone" - listen to this:

    http://apps.facebook.com/ilike/artis...ink+Zone?apv=1

Imagine that, but the "pan pipe" 3-note melody starts muffled and opens up and becomes clearer as the track builds. Add the "lights, heat" vocal over the top (except this may have been an acapella vocal mixed over the top by the DJ) and you've got my tune!

    Any ideas? Thanks, BJ

Haha, I've just been searching for this tune myself and maybe we cab help each other (even though your post is about 4 years old haha) basically I Know exactly what track you are looking for because I cam looking for the same!!

It's Galaxia by moonman (ferry corsten) but the exact name of the remix I dont know, so maybe with that clue you can tie the strings together!!

    I'll pop this here incase you happen to check this before the ukmusic site you posted on also;

Okay, phew. After extensive searching of varies names, labels, artists, remixes etc I have managed to edit a version of the tune with the vocals that I managed to find under the label "Superstars of Rock - Orange Sunshine" It was just a vocal video on youtube so I downloaded it (took me so long to figure that out) then combined those vocals with the original track "Moonman - Galaxia" and mixed up some of the vocals to resemble the original mix and came up with this (I uploaded it to youtube) It's not perfect (I've never done this before, was fun though) :P

Can't post the full link, it's on youtube.

    May I present: /watch?v=AoHUFMgq28k
