Infamy
Just found an old book of poems and short stories I wrote so...
A wise man once told me that I, like him, was a star,
He predicted I'd begin and I'd go bloody far,
I took it as gospel, I took it as read,
I was better than him, the old codger is dead,
When he'd said go far, I didn't know what he'd meant,
Go so far into this I'd come out quite bent,
A star in my circles, the queen of the crowd,
A hotshot celebrity, never named aloud,
Not now, not today, today is mine,
I've watched and I've waiting, biding my time,
And here, now, at last, we can begin the game,
The first move is yours.
"If you were me, then I'd be you, and if I were you, I'd hide somewhere faraway..."
