Bravo Mixaela, well done!
The phrase "apo prwto xeri" is right, but maybe we should give an example in order to be understandable.
ex. I've learnt it from the first hand cause Katerina was there when the accident happened.
Means that Katerina was there when the accident happened and she told it to her friend. So the other girl learned it from the first hand.
Now, I understood means katalava, I understand katalavainw, there's no word katalavas. You understood is katalaves.
I wait a little bit is perimenw ligo, wait a little bit is perimene ligo.
And except from eimai kala you could say eimai mia xara. It's the same!Άνθρωποι τύχης είδωλον επλάσαντο, πρόφασιν ιδίης αβουλίης.

I don't say that the name is greek (it's french), but I'm saying that the coffee is greek that's why the best frape is in greece!
1.Pinao ---------> I'm hungry (right)
2.Dipsao ------> I'm thursty (right)
3.Ton logariasmo ---------> the bill
4.Antio -----------> goodbye
5.Yia mas ---------> cheers (in fact means to our health, but the english word is cheers)

Frappa!! lol could remind to someone of Frank Zappa..
Anyhow frappe is not greek if i remember correct. I think it originates from some arab country where we and them only have it or at least used to cuz now u can find frappe in Bulgaria and rest Balkan countries as well
It is indeed considered the summer national coffee of Greeks..
The winter national coffee is (what else) "nes" which is the same coffee (nescafe) but hot - not cold.
I am stickin to freddo and cappuccino. Ha!
And girls good luck with your greek.. I hope after a point you ll stop sayin "its all greek to me"Ppl here have made an excellent job with the Grammar thread so I would suggest you check that as well.
Other than that for words and phrases am sure ppl will assist here with pleasure.

"Τα αλλοπαρμένα αγγελούδια μου κοίτα
πως ξεμυτάνε απ’ του ουρανού τα λημέρια
Κι όλοι το ξέρουν πως
απόψε θα έχουμε μια όμορφη νύχτα
κι αύριο θα είναι μια καλύτερη μέρα.." -
sometimes I am completely fed up to learn greek, especially when I try to translate something and don't even understand one sentence. or if I have an argument with a greek, and I miss the words I would need.
but most time I am happy to learn a new language (my children are always very impressed, when they hear me talking in greek on the phone) - but I suppose I learn more from talking to greeks, especially the elder ones. they admire you, if they realize you want to learn their motherlanguage, and nobody is laughing when I contruct funny sentences.
and for me it's normal if I want to live in a foreign country for good, that I learn the language of this country!

Mwro mou, Nescafé is a trademark of Nestlé (hence nes(tle)+cafe).
The brand is instant coffee. It could be Jacobs, Tchibo, Nescafe, etc.
No, it's doesn't originate from any Arab country, it originates from our beautiful Thessaloniki.
Frappé dates back to the 1957 International Trade Fair in Thessaloniki. The representative of the Nestlé company, Yannis Dritsas, was exhibiting a new product for children, a chocolate beverage produced instantly by mixing it with milk and shaking it in a shaker. Dritsas' employee Dimitris Vakondios was looking for a way to have his usual instant coffee during his break but he could not find any hot water, so he mixed the coffee with cold water and a shaker, creating the first frappé coffee.
This improvised experiment established this popular Greek beverage. Frappé has been marketed chiefly by Nestlé and has been a popular drink in Greece.

Many people drink frappe. I don't, but you know this.
P.S. In Bulgaria people also use Coca Cola instead of water. Caffeine killer drink.
